Cotton Fixing Agent
Description
Cotton Fixing Agent applicable for the after-treatment of fabrics dyed with reactive, direct, and sulphur dyes, as well as polyester fibres. Significantly enhances the water immersion fastness of textiles. Especially suitable for the fixation of dyed cotton fabrics and yarns.
Properties
Composition: Polycationic compound
Appearance: Pale yellow transparent liquid
pH Value: 3-5
Ionicity: Cationic
Solubility: Readily soluble in water
Key Features
1. Used in pad batch or exhaust fixation processes for woven cotton, knit cotton, and yarns. Delivers significantly improved wash fastness (including high-temperature water immersion) and wet rubbing fastness compared to standard fixing agents. Also markedly enhances perspiration fastness.
2. Minimal dye bleeding in the fixation bath, effectively preventing shade change or dye stripping.
3. Excellent alkali resistance, allowing its use before mercerizing processes on cotton.
4. Suitable for both dyed and printed goods, with minimal impact on fabric handfeel.
Application Methods
Recommended Procedures:
1. Exhaust Method:
Dosage: 1% ~ 3% o.w.f. (on weight of fabric)
Process: Immersion (60°C × 20 min, constant temperature) → Drain → Rinse → Dry
2. Padding Method:
Dosage: 20 ~ 30 g/L
Process: Pad at room temperature (One dip-one nip, 70~80% pick-up) → Dry → Cure
Specific process parameters should be optimized according to your existing mill conditions.
Precautions
1. Preliminary laboratory trials are essential to determine the optimal dosage.
2. If used in combination with other finishing agents, conduct compatibility tests beforehand.
Storage & Packaging
1. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Protect from sunlight and rain. Shelf life: 6 months.
2. Packed in polyethylene (PE) plastic drums, 125 kg/drum.
